The idea for StoryBranch developed out of the "choose your own adventure" paperback novels
from years past. Two things dawned on us though. One, these were essentially books trying to model
the hyperlinked nature of the web, but before the web even existed, and two, these books were limited
by the creativity of the author. We came to realize that the current web was much better suited for
this task. On the web, there are millions of people around the world who are interested in helping
to write an ever growing story, and even more who would be interested in reading it. Hence the idea
of StoryBranch was born.
With the help of friends from across the country, we have put together this site and opened it up to the world
for people to participate in. We hope you have fun using it, and are always interested in hearing
your ideas on how to make it even better.
